Bargeboard - F1 Technical Terms

Teams have been using Bargeboards from around the change in regulations in 1995, they sit ahead of the Sidepods and help to condition the airflow in front of them.  Designed to move airflow from under the nose of the car and direct it around the side of the Sidepod whilst deflecting unwanted airflow emanating from the tyres in yaw.  Bargeboards are carefully designed in order to increase the efficiency of the airflow around the Sidepod, under the floor of the car and that entering the Sidepod Inlet.
